Space. To choose. Consciously. Does this sound like a luxury or a necessity?
If you are driven by external schedules and stress, do you have space in your life to make conscious choices for yourself?
Unwinding from the day is an often used concept. Generally, it looks like people using a vice that will help them ‘relax’ from the stress of the day. But, this type of unwinding, is simply putting you further behind. Using any type of vice or ‘numbing’ will invariably disconnect you even further from your dreams and creative expression. This limits your ability to choose consciously for yourself. Invariably, without conscious choice, we end up making choices subconsciously. And then wonder why we are repeating tired, worn out patterns that don’t serve us.
It is imagination, dreaming and creativity that lead us to unexpected places and new ways of being in the world. These things take space. Not time, but space. What do I mean by space? I mean the ability to switch off the chattering, small mind and access an expanded consciousness. In that space, you can connect with your higher self. And connect with a sense of freedom, growth and transformation. You can make conscious choices for yourself rather than running the same worn out script.
It takes space to switch off the mind. Especially at the end of a busy and stressful day. You can’t just will it to happen. You need to allow room for it to happen. It has to become a habit, a routine that you incorporate into your every day life.
I recommend that people get up 1 hour earlier than usual. You might fight the urge to sleep longer. But spending even just 1 hour before you start your day, will change your day. You will start to crave that feeling of expansion and make even more room for it. A nightly routine might then follow.
I’ll share more on how to connect with expanded consciousness soon. Until then, try getting up 1 hour earlier and simply reading inspirational content or stepping into nature. Start today. Notice the difference. You may even feel synchronicity starting to occur more frequently. This is how you know that your new routine is working!
