When you finish a conversation with someone, and you feel deflated, what does this tell us? That the person you were speaking to is a victim of their own limiting beliefs. And this limited thinking, is in turn, impacting your own perception of what is possible.
We have all had those conversations. We talk to someone about our hopes, dreams, goals and plans. And we come away feeling exhausted. Or we have been spending too much time consuming mainstream media. Or thinking in a narrow way and using ‘box’ thinking.
It doesn’t feel good. In fact, it feels downright awful. We must learn to recognize this feeling when it stalks us. When we limit our thinking, we limit the possibilities. And we limit our ability to imagine something different. Like a virus, that sort of thinking spreads and then impacts other people who encounter it.
Do you want to stop the spread of this limited thinking or do you want to perpetuate it? It can stop with you if you recognize it for what it is and turn it on its head. As I like to say, go upside to get a whole different perspective.
Limited thinking paralyses us. This is because we can’t see beyond its narrow confines. It feels suffocating because we can’t see the way forward until we notice that we are in ‘box’ thinking mode. As soon as we can bring awareness to the fact that we are stuck in ‘limited’ thinking, then we can see the box for what it is. And step out of it.
That is how we can free our minds and our emotions. We drop limited thinking and the feelings that go with it and choose to soar instead.
